Wedding Cake Reception - Mr Mikael's

This cake was also ordered by Ms Shalieza for Mr Mikael's wedding reception. Again she gave me freedom to create. This was a two tiered chocolate cake, chocolate ganache fillings, chocolate fondant adorned with chocolate roses. It was quite difficult to shaped these roses during a hot humid day. I had to delivered to a restaurant at Subang Parade, Subang Jaya. It was difficult to find a parking space during the weekend, especially after 7 pm. I just parked illegally (hoping I will not get any summon ticket) quite near to the location of the restaurant. I am very grateful with the restaurant's staff in expediting the receiving of the cake and setting up of the cake for me, and thank god no summon ticket on my windscreen.

On Monday, I received an sms from Ms Shalieza "......the family of the bride and groom was very satisfied, your cake was cute and delicious........" ( well something like that...).

Wedding Cake, Chocolate Cake with Cupcakes - Saiful and Ayu

This wedding was held at Tabung Haji Kelana Jaya, apparently Tabung Haji is now aggressively promoting their 2 halls  for functions , and other rooms for training purposes.  I have been informed  Tabung Haji had just started promoting it this year and in fact there's a new department  been created to take care of this premises. They have several packages been offered. I also visited the other function room which is well equip with a stage. Actually , my sister-in-law work in  Tabung Haji and  she's one of the pioneer in this new department.
This cake was for my sister-in-law's colleague, also one of Tabung Haji's staff. I was not feeling well that morning because  might be due to the food I've been taken last night, in fact I've been  attending to three  consecutive nights to my friend's Chinese New Year celebration. I've been visiting the toilet for several times after my stomach felt uncomfortable, my body started to sweat profusely, felt like I'm going to throw-out. But thank God, it does not happen, if not my body will produce an "undesirable" odor, not even my Coco Chanel no 5 can safe the day. As I walk out the toilet, my nostril started to notice a smell that calmed me down....the aroma of chicken kurma!!.

By then, my sister-in-law had already arranged the cake accordingly.

Wedding Cake - Hydrangea

This Wedding Cake looks simple yet elegant. The hydrangea flowers really bring out the overall outlook of the cake.

This was Nuzul's wedding and was held at Bangunan SUK Shah AlamAfter setting up the cake, a few guest had started coming in. A few gave a good comments, however there's one particular guest insisted it was a fake cake, not knowing I'm the one who had set-up the cake earlier. Worst still, she started touching the cake!!. Hey, where is your manners!!!

Wedding : Che Mat's Wedding experience

I reached Ipoh at 10.30 am and straight away set up the tiers trays for the cupcake tree. Since it were a small size cupcakes and could not found a suitable container to fit in, I have to improvise the casing by putting a cardboard with a hole in the middle so that the cupcake will stay put.

Che Mat also ordered a two tiered cake for the cake cutting ceremony that was held at night, so meanwhile the cake was stashed away in the fridge.

It was really a hot day and I lost count how many times I took the “cendol” to quench my thirst. With the hot weather I don’t have the appetite to eat the “nasi minyak” and the “rendang”. I could not stand the weather and make a move to my brother’s house in Ipoh and took a nap in an air cond room.....ooo its heaven......

After Maghrib, we went to Che Mat’s house. The two boxes of cake had been taken out from the fridge. My god, what a surprised!, the cake looks soo wet, the humidity may cause the frosting to weep with small droplets of moisture that collect in puddles on top and roll down the sides and puddle at the base of the cake. The water just flow like a miniture waterfall on the surface of the cake. I never had this before!!!. I tried to keep calm, took a deep breath, sweats like after running 500 meters dash. I tried to use the kitchen towel to absorb the water but in vain.  My elder brother try to help  by switching on the fan but it doesn’t make any difference. Later, I realised all the house’s windows were closed, no woder the house was stuffy and hot. I requested to open the windows to reduced the heat but was not allowed as to avoid mosquitoes from entering the house.......sob, sob...

I just stacked the cake on the board, trying to ignore the condensation, arranged the gumpaste flowers and completed my mission. After the cake had been arranged on the table, the guest started to take photos of the cake, click here and there. However, the cake still look very wet.....Overall, I am not satisfied on the look of the cake......... Thus far, my first VERY bad experience and its beyond my control......

Syarina's Wedding Cake

This 2 tiered cake’s size was chocolate cake, 9 inch and mud cake, 7 inch, accompanied with 10 mini chocolate cakes. Due to transportation and warm weather, the cake surface doesn’t look smooth when I arrived at the venue. The condition of the cake deteriorate after I’ve been told the air-conditioner had just been turn on a few minutes. I was sweating during the set-up, maybe the warm weather higher than usual makes the air cond took quite a while to cool down the hall.
The bottom tier was heavy even though it looks small. Squares cake usually 30% heavier than a round cake with the same size.
The design idea was from the client’s. I was not satisfied with the outcome because the brown color seems to fade a little due to the white light and a good reason for me to purchase an air brush. Certain colors will fade through time if been exposed to white light, example brown, purple and black.

Wedding Cake : Fondant icing

My client ordered this cake for his sister’s wedding in Ipoh .
At first, I was quite reluctant to take his order taking into account he wanted a 2 tier fondant cake and he would personally bring the cake to Ipoh, a 2 hours journey!!!, first thing crosses my mind, my cake will look like “a Collapsed Highland Tower”!!!.
I suggested just single fondant cake, but his insistence makes me give up. I informed him of the consequences of the journey, speed is never the issue, but the sudden brakes and turning corners fast. He assured me he would take the risk.
I make a small 2 tiered cakes, 8 inches and 6 inches diameter cake, height of the cake 8 inches. The bottom tier was butter cake, top tier chocolate cake. I never anticipated the cakes look real cute……. To ensure the top tier would not topple from the bottom tier, I inserted a dowel right through the middle of both cakes.
Packed in a box, ensure less movement in the box; put a few Styrofoams and ready to go. He collected from my premises in the morning and I have to put a few rolls of newspaper at the front seat to level the box, under the box, I put one “anti-slip” rubber matt. Before his departure, again I reminded him the do’s and don’ts during the journey. It started to rain a few minutes after his departure.
Everything goes well in Ipoh , the cake still stands with the test of speed, time and weather, only a few broken pieces of gumpaste flowers.

Two Tiered Cake

Two tiered cake
The bottom cake was coconut cake with pastry filling, whereas the top tier a chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling. This type of cake suitable for weddings however after covering with fondant and assembled, the overall “structure” was heavy. Therefore, all tiered cake must be assembled at site and if possible the cake should not be moved to other location.

If you're interested in more than 2 tiers or other flavours, arrangements can be made. For huge events, kindly contact us as soon as possible (6 months is not too early =) ) to avoid disappointments. Book you date kay!
