These cupcakes were considered a very last minute order by a regular client. The designs were simple and I managed to complete pipping each cupcakes in a jiffy!!

Cupcake Tree - Mior Asri and Norliyana's Wedding

It's been quite sometime I did not drive long distance ALONE. My nephew's wedding was held on the weekend and coincided with the year end school holidays and as usual it's raining season in December. So based on my experience and all these variables, the traffic on the highway will be reasonably heavy. The distance from my house, Shah Alam to Parit Buntar is around 300 kilometers, that is estimated around 3.5 hours drive.

I had to pack all the 500 pieces of small cupcakes into a few boxes so it will fit nicely into my cute little Kelisa and I have to ensure these boxes does not move from side to side. After putting all these boxes nicely I realized the boards for the cupcake tree were not in the car.....oh my, I had to rearrange all the boxes again to fit these boards in the car...another 30 minutes of rearranging.

By 6 pm I started my journey, 10 minutes later it stated to drizzle, drizzle and drizzle........slowly getting heavy and heavier......drizzle,  drizzle.... heavy ... drizzle...... for the next 4 hours!!. My car screen wiper worked extra hard to wade the rain water.

I have three brothers, who, should I say, they were rather "worried" when they knew I drove alone at night in an unfavorable weather. They called, text messages several times just to know where am I... to an extent I'm started getting annoyed or rather irritated.......why can't I just report to one person and they shared the news!!!!......Nevertheless, I enjoyed my journey and I reached the destination by 10 pm on the dot, even though I lost my way just 500 meters before reaching my brother's house.

Chocolate Cupcakes with Pink Baby Booties - "Aqiqah" and Cukur Jambul" Ceremony

It's been quite sometimes I did not do these baby booties, so I had to look through my old notes on how to pipe these teeny weeny baby booties. You have to held the piping bag on certain angle otherwise you will not get the baby booties you wanted. Since I'm using no 10 tip, the length of the boots must not more than 0.8 inch, otherwise it will look like Charlie Chaplin Boots instead!!!.

 

It looks so cute when the cupcakes were placed in the container.

Wedding Cake, Chocolate Cake with Cupcakes - Saiful and Ayu

This wedding was held at Tabung Haji Kelana Jaya, apparently Tabung Haji is now aggressively promoting their 2 halls  for functions , and other rooms for training purposes.  I have been informed  Tabung Haji had just started promoting it this year and in fact there's a new department  been created to take care of this premises. They have several packages been offered. I also visited the other function room which is well equip with a stage. Actually , my sister-in-law work in  Tabung Haji and  she's one of the pioneer in this new department.

This cake was for my sister-in-law's colleague, also one of Tabung Haji's staff. I was not feeling well that morning because  might be due to the food I've been taken last night, in fact I've been  attending to three  consecutive nights to my friend's Chinese New Year celebration. I've been visiting the toilet for several times after my stomach felt uncomfortable, my body started to sweat profusely, felt like I'm going to throw-out. But thank God, it does not happen, if not my body will produce an "undesirable" odor, not even my Coco Chanel no 5 can safe the day. As I walk out the toilet, my nostril started to notice a smell that calmed me down....the aroma of chicken kurma!!.

By then, my sister-in-law had already arranged the cake accordingly.

White Roses Cupcakes

A few clients asked me whether I still do cupcakes, yes I still do. It's just that many designs were repetitive therefore, I will not show again in my blog. So, only occasionally I'll show it, if I think its' worth showing. This white roses chocolate cupcakes were for gift to guest during a solemnization ceremony. Each cupcake was put into a transparent container. Pipping a lot of white roses, makes my eyes goes "bonkers" for a while........

I just love to do rose bud on cupcake. It looks intricate yet not time consuming. The design is suitable if you receive large orders.

For your information I still do cupcakes, only that, of late I seldom posted cupcakes because many of the designs were quite similar. As usual, during Valentine received many orders for chocolate cupcakes. However,  due to time constraint I had to be selective in taking orders. A few potential customers had ridiculous demand on the design that may be very time consuming. Below one of the Valentine Chocolate Cupcakes boxes.

Pull-Apart Cupcakes - 33rd Anniversary

This Pull-Apart Cupcakes were to celebrate their parent's 33rd Wedding Anniversary. I've been informed by one of the children, for the first time after more than 10 years all their children were at home for the holidays, sort of a big family gathering.

Wedding : Che Mat's Wedding experience

I reached Ipoh at 10.30 am and straight away set up the tiers trays for the cupcake tree. Since it were a small size cupcakes and could not found a suitable container to fit in, I have to improvise the casing by putting a cardboard with a hole in the middle so that the cupcake will stay put.

Che Mat also ordered a two tiered cake for the cake cutting ceremony that was held at night, so meanwhile the cake was stashed away in the fridge.

It was really a hot day and I lost count how many times I took the “cendol” to quench my thirst. With the hot weather I don’t have the appetite to eat the “nasi minyak” and the “rendang”. I could not stand the weather and make a move to my brother’s house in Ipoh and took a nap in an air cond room.....ooo its heaven......

After Maghrib, we went to Che Mat’s house. The two boxes of cake had been taken out from the fridge. My god, what a surprised!, the cake looks soo wet, the humidity may cause the frosting to weep with small droplets of moisture that collect in puddles on top and roll down the sides and puddle at the base of the cake.The water just flow like a miniture waterfall on the surface of the cake. I never had this before!!!. I tried to keep calm, took a deep breath, sweats like after running 500 meters dash. I tried to use the kitchen towel to absorb the water but in vain.  My elder brother try to help  by switching on the fan but it doesn’t make any difference. Later, I realised all the house’s windows were closed, no woder the house was stuffy and hot. I requested to open the windows to reduced the heat but was not allowed as to avoid mosquitoes from entering the house.......sob, sob...

I just stacked the cake on the board, trying to ignore the condensation, arranged the gumpaste flowers and completed my mission. After the cake had been arranged on the table, the guest started to take photos of the cake, click here and there. However, the cake still look very wet.....Overall, I am not satisfied on the look of the cake......... Thus far, my first VERY bad experience and its beyond my control......

Miss Noor’s wedding was held in Pahang. I suggested her chocolate cupcakes because it’s easy to handle and also resistant to weather changes.

 

It was a rainy season and a fondant icing cake is a big “NO”, moreover the time traveled must also be taken into consideration.

These cupcakes were ordered by a lady for her boyfriend who loves to play billiard……..the cupcakes look so colorful.

Zuraidah's Wedding Day : Wedding Cake and Cupcakes Combo

It was a chocolate cake with fondant icing and chocolate cupcakes with chocolate ganache topping. The ceremony was held at the Bride’s house, Ms. Zuraidah, Taman Gembira, Kelang. It was hot and humid day. When we arrived around noon, the chocolate ganache looks glossy and through experience, the temperature should be around 34⁰Celsius. It was fortunate her house located near “ a padang ” and its windy.

Actually the bride and groom should have worn pink attire, however, both of them were so busy attending to the guest, they don’t have the time to change. Anyway, Selamat Pengantin Baru!!!.

A teacher ordered cupcakes for their jumble sale to raise funds. Usually I’ll give a discounted price if for a good cause. I was informed the funds will be used to build their own Girl Guide Building in Selangor. The jumble sale was held on 18 April at Dataran Merdeka, Shah Alam.

3 Tiered Wedding Cake – Basket Weave

Initially she requested cake with fondant icing but I advice her for butter cream cake because the event was held outdoor (typical Malay kampong with many trees) and probability of raining in December was high. High humidity will make the fondant “sticky” and it doesn’t look good. In fact it was drizzling when I reached her house somewhere in Banting. Weather plays an important role in any event, certain cakes may look nice in pictures but come actual day, it may not look nice especially in our country where humidity is very high. Thus it is vital that this is bought up during discussions.

Token to the Groom’s Family

Sahlawati ordered chocolate cupcakes as a token to the groom’s family for her “nikah” ceremony.

2008! And oh boy, what a great beginning it was!! Updates!

First of all I would really really like to apologize for the severe lack of updates particularly this year in 2008. Reason? Preety stupid actually, I went for a long holiday and when i came back, me and Habsah were busy with engagement parties and huge orders. Then last week when i as about to update the site, that stupid thing happened. I've forgotten my password for this website, eek! @.@ I'm sorry!!!!!

Anyway, a huge thanks for all our clients that have been patient with us and booked for their events for year 2008 in advance. (Some booked 6 months in advance, I'm impressed!) I don't know whether its the season or something but this first 2 months of 2008's orders mainly consists of fondant cakes, cupcakes for favors, cakes for engagement and wedding parties.
Its a season to get engaged and kahwin!!! Congratulations! Well post up their pictures as soon as possible.

Red Velvets

These cupcakes were for Emma’s Birthday. This was our first attempt on Red Velvet cupcake. Due to its vivid red colour, the red velvet cupcakes are suitable for Valentine’s Day, Christmas and especially birthday parties
