These mini wedding cakes were token for immediate family. It was a tedious process due to the size of the cake. The mini cakes were individually packed in a transparent container.

I received the bridal shower cake and cookies order from a group of young ladies. At first they were quite apprehensive in giving me their ideas on what they really wanted. They wanted something a bit of provocative.....I asked how provocative you wanted to be?? After several exchange of calls they come with the the above idea for the cake and cookies.

Wedding : Che Mat's Wedding experience

I reached Ipoh at 10.30 am and straight away set up the tiers trays for the cupcake tree. Since it were a small size cupcakes and could not found a suitable container to fit in, I have to improvise the casing by putting a cardboard with a hole in the middle so that the cupcake will stay put.

Che Mat also ordered a two tiered cake for the cake cutting ceremony that was held at night, so meanwhile the cake was stashed away in the fridge.

It was really a hot day and I lost count how many times I took the “cendol” to quench my thirst. With the hot weather I don’t have the appetite to eat the “nasi minyak” and the “rendang”. I could not stand the weather and make a move to my brother’s house in Ipoh and took a nap in an air cond room.....ooo its heaven......

After Maghrib, we went to Che Mat’s house. The two boxes of cake had been taken out from the fridge. My god, what a surprised!, the cake looks soo wet, the humidity may cause the frosting to weep with small droplets of moisture that collect in puddles on top and roll down the sides and puddle at the base of the cake.The water just flow like a miniture waterfall on the surface of the cake. I never had this before!!!. I tried to keep calm, took a deep breath, sweats like after running 500 meters dash. I tried to use the kitchen towel to absorb the water but in vain.  My elder brother try to help  by switching on the fan but it doesn’t make any difference. Later, I realised all the house’s windows were closed, no woder the house was stuffy and hot. I requested to open the windows to reduced the heat but was not allowed as to avoid mosquitoes from entering the house.......sob, sob...

I just stacked the cake on the board, trying to ignore the condensation, arranged the gumpaste flowers and completed my mission. After the cake had been arranged on the table, the guest started to take photos of the cake, click here and there. However, the cake still look very wet.....Overall, I am not satisfied on the look of the cake......... Thus far, my first VERY bad experience and its beyond my control......

Little Yasmin celebrated her birthday with her kindergarten friends. I used a recycle cards ( hari raya, christmas,deepavali & season greetings) to make her goodies bag.
The goodies bag contain 3 inch cookies and other snacks.

I've really enjoyed decorating her cookies because I am free to use all colors…yea…. Her twin is a girl and a boy. These cookies will be one of the items in her goodies bag.

 

The cookies were in the shape of rompers, buggy, bib and rocky horse.

Little Alwi's Aqiqah Ceremony

Aqiqah literally means cut and this word is often used for the hair of a new born baby that is cut or shaved. Aqiqah is defined as the animal that is slaughtered on the occasion when the hair of a new born is shaved.

Alwi just reach 4 months old, however he looks more like 7 months old and I guess its more of the effect of fully breast-fed. I can classify him under the category of “good baby”- he does not cry unnecessarily but beware when he starts to sneeze……….

His mother ordered cookies in the shape of rompers as token to guest. The cookies were 3 inches in size and decorated with royal icing with his name on the cookies. First, I tried to abstain myself from using “girlish” colors, however after the 50^th cookies, my mind start to get bored and I can’t resist to use other colors……..yes, pink and other pastel colors…….

 

My schedule was so hectic that week because Alwi’s Aqiqah was shifted to another week and it coincided with my brownies orders. The lady who ordered the brownies keeps on increasing her order until the fifth day before her event. I have to say NO,NO, NO…she tried to persuade me but I have to put my foot down. I need my sleep, sleep…..zzzzzz.

 

Lack of sleep may lead to disaster……..but in the end, all goes well :)

Cookies for Bridal Shower

These were a 3 inches cookies decorated with royal icing. A group of ladies wanted to celebrate a few of their friends who soon going to tie a knot. They wanted cookies that related with weddings and also a little bit “kinky”.

We can also cater any Theme Cookies Favors for any special occasions.

Baby shower party for Ayu

This was a surprise baby shower party held for Ayu. Her husband’s duty was to get her out from the house while “the organizer” starts preparing the room at the attic, the only secluded room in the house.

While waiting for her friends to arrive, we ate, because it had passed our lunch time. We were getting worried. Are her friends coming??

Even though this was a small scale party, we had to wait for all her friends to arrive, by then it was 2.00 pm. Ayu must be hungry or maybe angry, been shoved by the husband, like going nowhere. Her husband’s phone kept on ringing, well, communication between him and organizer, friends and visa versa.

Well we managed to surprise her!!

A few games been organized and they had great fun. (see the collage of photos)

The baby shower cake was a chocolate cake with fondant icing. Since it was the last batch of fondant, I have to ensure the fondant was enough to cover the cake. That explained the unevenness on the cake, the fondant layer too thin. The figurine’s tummy was not big enough. However, I am satisfied with the outcome especially the figurine’s dress. The gum paste had to be rolled very thin so it looks like a cloth and have to work quickly before the gum paste gets dry.

We also do the baby shower cookies and cupcakes.

The party goes well, however the room was getting warmer because the 4.00 pm sun shone directly to the room, though the air conditioner was on.

Brownies - Gift Ideas

Of late I received many orders for “the bite size” brownies. Usually I’ll pack in a small box that contains 21 pieces of brownies at RM10.

My client ordered these brownies with walnuts for her daughter’s engagement that falls on 14 February 2009. The size of these brownies was 1.5 inches with thickness of ½ inch. Each brownie was cling wrapped for easy handling and packing. Each brownies is equivalent to 2 bite size. For more shapes and size, feel free to enquire.

Salawati and Aliyas's Wedding (Event)

Bride of the day, Miss Salawati, ordered 3 tiered cakes from us, and whats make it so special is that all tiers have different flavours.

• Buttercream icing, with 3 flavors, bottom tier - chocolate, middle tier – coconut and top tier –vanilla. She had chosen ivory color to complement with the theme color, brown.
  

While setting up the cake, there was a “gamelan” group playing a soothing familiar tune……..I tried to remember it…..searching through my memory bank….that it!!….it was played during my graduation!!!!. Very nostalgic indeed.

The wedding was held at Kompleks Taman Seni Islam Selangor, just beside the Masjid Negeri, Shah Alam. The interior was quite unique; you can go to each floor easily, in a spiral way, very friendly for a “wheel-chaired” bound. In the middle of the building there’s a small garden with a water fountain in the center. I managed to visit a few rooms/galleries, many beautiful “khat” been showcased and some information about the purpose of the building. The concept of the building based on the “bees’ nest” (sarang lebah).

• Cupcakes were given as favors to guest. 3 flavors, vanilla, chocolate and carrot.

• Cookies were given to her “under 12” guest. :) So sweet.

Wedding Token

Wedding Favours as a Token for the guest at my niece’s wedding.

Wedding favours play an integral part in making the wedding unforgettable. Besides the ordinary “Bunga Telur”, we also gave each guest chocolate cupcakes. 

To do 1,200 cupcakes was a challenged, especially when you are doing it alone. The baking part was a breeze but decorating and putting into the dome container was an agony. 10% of the dome containers' covers were malfunction, it does not close the container properly, and really eats up my patience….arghhhhh…..I have to return it to the supplier……..
