Bride of the day, Miss Salawati, ordered 3 tiered cakes from us, and whats make it so special is that all tiers have different flavours.

• Buttercream icing, with 3 flavors, bottom tier - chocolate, middle tier – coconut and top tier –vanilla. She had chosen ivory color to complement with the theme color, brown.
  

While setting up the cake, there was a “gamelan” group playing a soothing familiar tune……..I tried to remember it…..searching through my memory bank….that it!!….it was played during my graduation!!!!. Very nostalgic indeed.

The wedding was held at Kompleks Taman Seni Islam Selangor, just beside the Masjid Negeri, Shah Alam. The interior was quite unique; you can go to each floor easily, in a spiral way, very friendly for a “wheel-chaired” bound. In the middle of the building there’s a small garden with a water fountain in the center. I managed to visit a few rooms/galleries, many beautiful “khat” been showcased and some information about the purpose of the building. The concept of the building based on the “bees’ nest” (sarang lebah).

• Cupcakes were given as favors to guest. 3 flavors, vanilla, chocolate and carrot.

• Cookies were given to her “under 12” guest. :) So sweet.

• 3 Tiered Fondant Chocolate Cake
• Theme of the day : Enchanted Forest : The client showed us a couple of pictures and designs that they have in mind.
  
• Overall height : 12 inches tall.
• Diameter: 14", 10" and 6", height of each layer is 4"

Alhamdulillah the whole event went through smoothly. The whole place was decorated like a forest, with plants, flowers and even hanging apples!

3 Tiered Wedding Cake – Basket Weave

Initially she requested cake with fondant icing but I advice her for butter cream cake because the event was held outdoor (typical Malay kampong with many trees) and probability of raining in December was high. High humidity will make the fondant “sticky” and it doesn’t look good. In fact it was drizzling when I reached her house somewhere in Banting. Weather plays an important role in any event, certain cakes may look nice in pictures but come actual day, it may not look nice especially in our country where humidity is very high. Thus it is vital that this is bought up during discussions.

Token to the Groom’s Family

Sahlawati ordered chocolate cupcakes as a token to the groom’s family for her “nikah” ceremony.

This hantaran was a gift to the groom during their wedding ceremony at the groom’s house.

Hantaran for Emmarelda

This cake was for Emma’s wedding “hantaran” for the groom. The design of the cake was her idea and at first I thought it was a bit “overcrowded”, however she loved it so does her friends who attended the event.

The roses, the white small flowers, the leaves and the butterfly were all hand-made.

This was a 9” cake with 4” height. The cake board was covered with white fondant with “pattern” imprint to make it looks more elegant.

This was a last minute fondant cake for “hantaran” to the East Coast. I’m not sure whether they made it because a few places in that area were flooded. This was my first attempt to do “brush embroidery” technique on a cake. Kinda remind you those old pillows your grandmother have at home.

Hey everyone!

First on all, thousand apologies for the late updates, things have been so busy lately with work and exams. The delivery girl will be off on holiday but not too worry, Cik Baker kita masih around till Christmas, so feel free to contact us as usual. We'll try our best to arrange something regarding the deliveries, not too worry.

For the month of December and January, we received TONS of hantarans and wedding cake orders. It seems like everyone is getting married nowdays. Because of the very tight schecdule, for those planning on events, weddings, or meetups for discussion, it is advisable to contact us at least 2 months before the actual date take place.

Thank You Gift

My niece requested me to make a large choc cupcake for her friend in school. Each cupcake has their name on it. They were very excited and “very noisy” (I will become deaf if I stayed longer) when I delivered the cupcake to school. The 'TQ' cupcakes were for her teachers.
