Teachers' Day Cake

Yes, another Teachers' Day,  a week before the date I have to schedule carefully, especially the delivery and storage. I have to reject all last minute orders even though from my closest friends - have to be firmed on this matter....no more "pujuk rayu", I need my beauty sleep. All orders requested for Chocolate Cake.... choc, choc, choc.......... 

Below quite a large cake donated by a political figure to several schools in Shah Alam.

Pillow Cake

This Pillow Cake was for an Engagement Hantaran that was held in Trengganu. I am really satisfied with the outcome of the overall finish product.

The light pink roses really compliment with the gold sheen pillow.

 

 

 

Chocolate Cupcake - The Rose Bud

I just love to do rose bud on cupcake. It looks intricate yet not time consuming. The design is suitable if you receive large orders.

Multi-Colored Butter Cake

We do received a few request for a multi-colored layer butter cake or sometimes multi-colored or rainbow marble butter cake. Actually the taste is just a ordinary butter cake and usually will be iced with white buttercream.  

A thin layer of fruit preserve in between the cake will be applied so the cake won't slide and to keep the cake moist.

The finish product, I suppose when you cut the cake there's an element of surprise.

Chocolate Cake as Dessert

I received orders for a particular event wanted 10 boxes of chocolate cake for dessert. Each cake must be cut with a specific measurement. The baking and cutting the cakes were quite a breeze, however decorating the cake was an agony, I guessed due to the monotonous and repetitive actions, just like a robot........

Cake with Animal Figurine

A client e-mailed sketches of the cake with three animal figurine on the top of the cake. Quite a detail requirements, depicting the type of animals, colors, music instruments and type of cake. Wish all my clients are like him.......

Hat Cake

This Hat Cake was for an Engagement Hantaran for my niece's friend, Shima. It was a chocolate cake with chocolate ganache fillings.

The gumpaste red roses and fillers flowers were all handmade.

Valentine Chocolate Cupcakes

For your information I still do cupcakes, only that, of late I seldom posted cupcakes because many of the designs were quite similar. As usual, during Valentine received many orders for chocolate cupcakes. However,  due to time constraint I had to be selective in taking orders. A few potential customers had ridiculous demand on the design that may be very time consuming. Below one of the Valentine Chocolate Cupcakes boxes.

Hantaran Cookies Bouquet

"Hantaran" means Gift in Malay. I done some researched and realized 40% of browsers who visited my blog were from outside Malaysia. Thank you for dropping by.

Back to the Cookies Bouquet - This Hantaran was for an Engagement that was held in Alor Star, Kedah, northern part of Peninsular Malaysia. Special packaging was done to avoid the cookies from dislodging from the stick.

Baby Butt Cake

This was the baby girl's father idea, he showed me the photo and requested me to do it. It was quite a challenge, though I have made a few changes so it looks more realistic. Actually this was two tiered cake, both chocolate cake.

The child mother, Ms. Intan basically specified the design.

Annual Wedding Cake Competition 2010

The Annual Wedding Competition was held on 30-31 October 2010. Organized by International Centre of Cake Artistry's (ICCA).  This was my first time entering into this competition. Coincidently and unfortunately, this was  the time where I had many orders to fulfill. The winner of the competition had many experiences in entering his pieces at international level, so experinces and knew very well of the judges expectations was very crucial. Factors like design, skills and execution was part of the marks given.Eddie Spence was one of the judges. Below a few photos taken during the competition.

My entry - Comments from Judges - poor execution, design - quite good, color scheme - should be more brighter. Compare with other competitor - I'm far behind, need to practice more.
