Vegetarian Butter Cake

This butter cake was baked without egg for my friend's daughter. Her family are vegetarian and she requested me to do a doll cake for her daughter's birthday.

It was a challenged for me esspecially during delivery, traveling from Shah alam to Kajang!, the obstacles such as traffic lights, the highways, and NO sudden brakes! I had to separate the square base and the doll for easy handling.

I had to deliver earlier since my schedule that day was very tight. However, the hotel personnel was very helpful by keeping the cake in the fridge and I taught them how to assemble the cake.

I received a call from my vegetarian friend informing that the birthday function went well and her daughter was actually stunned when she saw the cake. Her daughter didn't expect a doll cake, she anticipated the usual round cake.

More weddings and engagements!

Seems that the yr 2008 is VERY lucky, practically every month we received orders for favors, especially for weddings and engagements. Again we would like to inform you orders for the month of August till 23rd 08 is fully booked due to the golden date. =)

(Anyway, my aunt did give me some notes to write her but i haven't install Microsoft Word in my MAC yet so I can't access her documents regarding this. Will re-update it soon).

Before that we would like to apologize for the lack of updates. Auntie Habsah have been busy attending decorating classes and doing party and engagement favors while I was busy with exams. Yes, I have this one folder that i have yet to upload here, thousand apologies.

Let me recall some of the stuff she told me about this. Usually we don't do this type of favors for engagements, people prefer cupcakes more but this one particular client specially request for square chocolate cake with specific measurement to follow. As we are very flexible, we do accomodate to some orders. If u have any queries regarding anything, whether we can do impossible things (regarding orders), feel free to contact us. Doesn't mean we only do whatever is online =)

The little mermaid was for four years old, the little princess was for five years old and the chocolate brownies for a twenty something boy/men.

It was a challenged to do the mermaid especially its scales and the little princess the hair-do, anyway, the girls loved it.

Cookies!!

Chocolate chip cookies – gift for the groom’s family

The bride’s family ordered chocolate chip cookies as a gift to the groom’s family. It was quite a short notice coz they ordered one week before the event. First, we were reluctant to accept the order, but after much persuasions and negotiations, we agreed, provided they prepare all the packing materials, eg baskets, ribbons……

2 days before the event they send 30 baskets with other packing materials, so we packed as shown and sent it in the morning of the event. It was quite a tedious work especially the cookies have to be wrapped twice to ensure its crispiness.

Of late there were a lot of enquiries on cupcakes. Is cupcake a fad??? The cupcake trend may just be a passing fad that will fade away eventually, but I’m taking advantage of it while it’s around.

A few shop that specializing on cupcakes had been open in Klang Valley. However, I found out the price was exorbitant, well maybe there’s a lot of cost they have to cover like overheads, rental……

We have made a lot of cupcake for this few months, especially for birthdays, kindergartens, graduations, engagement’s gift……..

These were another group of photos I misplaced and accidently found it.

The client ordered 200 pieces small cupcakes and the cupcakes were arranged on a small cupcake tree. This small cupcake tree can accommodate around 80 pieces of cupcake.

The cupcake tree was placed on the dessert table and it was the centre of attraction especially the children.

For a one year old baby girl……the gown was the cake. It was a black forest cake, chocolate sponge layered with fresh cream and black cherries.

A client ordered 150 pieces small cupcakes during last year Merdeka holidays and requested to put Malaysia flag on the cupcakes. It was a big family gathering and the cupcakes were a hit.

The 8 Clowns

This was a 2 kilo cake with 8 clowns. The client, who has 6 children plus 2 nephews, celebrated their birthdays during the previous school holidays, 5 of them are from boarding school; hence, it was like a big family gathering.

The client informed us that next year he has to order 3 or 4 kilos, coz apparently most of the children are already teenagers (that usually eats a lot!!!).

Carrot Cake

Carrot Cake
This cake seems to be very popular recently. Besides carrot, ground almond was added in this recipe to give “oomph” taste. Cinnamon, raisins, sultanas and nuts can also be added into this cake.

However, this cake cannot be kept long in room temperature because of the water content in the carrot but it can last around 1 week if kept in the fridge.

Almost all carrot cake ordered were generously topped with cream cheese and decorated with marzipan carrot.

Anniversary Chocolate Banana Cake

This was a three tiers cake ordered by a couple for their 25th anniversary. The bottom and middle tier was a 5 kilo and 2 ½ kilo chocolate banana cake respectively. However, the top tier was “dummy”, polystyrene covered with chocolate ganache, topped with a figurine – couple dancing.

In fact, the cake was heavier after covering with the chocolate ganache and it was quite a challenge for me to transport the cake to their premises.

We used “berangan” (day-dream???) banana and the taste goes well with the chocolate.

Engagement cakes

Since its a season to get engaged, I've decided to feature today's post about some engagement parties that we've done these past month. The picture above is taken during one of our regular customers engagement. Emma and her fiance has requested to have cupcakes with cupcake tree feature at the event. Assortments of design is done and she has requested for Vanila and Chocolate Cuppies in Medium Size. Its not necessary to have those 2 flavour, u can request for other flavours as well by just enquiring with us.

¨ Engagement Cakes - We also do hantarans!

Fondant cake – suitable if need to travel far…….does not need refrigeration however we need at least 2 weeks notice. Usually we do coconut cake or fruit cake.

Have to specify the size of the cake, example most of the cakes were 8 inches in diameter …..it will fit the “hantaran “ tray (semerit).

Price of an 8 inches round fondant cake will be at a range of RM 80 to RM 150, depends on the complexity of the designs.

Chocolate Ganache - Can last one day without refrigeration; however the chocolate might melt if in a warm area or direct sunlight.

Butter cream - Not suitable for long distance. But ok if 2 hours ride. We will pack in a proper packaging.

Tis' a season to tie the knot!

Instead of the normal traditional white-buttercream or cakes-that-made-out-of-styroform, why not have a Chocolate Wedding Cakes instead. Usually during weddings, guest don't get to taste the wedding cakes but so far, with SeenFullySedap cakes, its the bride and the groom that didn't get the chance to even get a bite. And that record has never been broken. Guess next time, put someone nearby the cake and guard it for the couple =p Our cake is THAT good!!!

¨ This was a three kilo chocolate cake. The chocolate ganache toppings will makes the cake heavier; therefore the top tier usually will be a dummy cake or a few small sized cupcakes.

¨ In this event the bride and groom only have a chance to have a photo shoot while cutting the cake and they have been immediately shoved away by the bride’s parent to introduce them to a VIP guest.

¨ When the event was over they realized they don’t even get the taste of the cake. One month after the event, Auntie Habsah gave them a half kilo chocolate cake as complimentary gift. =)

Christmast Party 2007@ Uncle Ben & Uncle Johar

Annual Christmas Gathering at Uncle Ben & Uncle Johar.

¨ Uncle Ben and Uncle Johar are Auntie Habsah’s best friends and every year they will hold an annual Christmas lunch for Uncle Ben....Their friendship span around 20 years.

¨ As usual Uncle Johar will bake the turkey for 3-4 hours. The last time I tasted the turkey when I was in Form 5. Seriously, that turkey was delish!!!!!! Sinfull, if u know what i mean =). I missed the event and especially the turkey coz I was on vacation ….sob, sob…sedap siut! Uncle Johar’s turkey is very tasty, especially the stuffing, his own recipes that cater for Malaysian taste buds. Uncle Johar le tukang masaknye =)

¨ It was a potluck event, so my aunt contributed her cupcakes and a ½ kilo coconut cake covered with white fondant.

2008! And oh boy, what a great beginning it was!! Updates!

First of all I would really really like to apologize for the severe lack of updates particularly this year in 2008. Reason? Preety stupid actually, I went for a long holiday and when i came back, me and Habsah were busy with engagement parties and huge orders. Then last week when i as about to update the site, that stupid thing happened. I've forgotten my password for this website, eek! @.@ I'm sorry!!!!!

Anyway, a huge thanks for all our clients that have been patient with us and booked for their events for year 2008 in advance. (Some booked 6 months in advance, I'm impressed!) I don't know whether its the season or something but this first 2 months of 2008's orders mainly consists of fondant cakes, cupcakes for favors, cakes for engagement and wedding parties.
Its a season to get engaged and kahwin!!! Congratulations! Well post up their pictures as soon as possible.
